Harrison Hotel

This magnificent 68-bedroom hotel with its neoclassical façade has stood on the Llandudno seafront since 1854. For the last thirty years it has been a very successful family run hotel and benefits from a strong existing core business. Its location is one block from Mostyn Street at the heart of Llandudno’s main shopping area and all other attractions are close by. The Pier and Venue Cymru theatre and event hall are a ten minute walk from the hotel. The Great Orme with its historic tram and more modern cable cars is nearby to be explored. The mountains of Snowdonia and the attractions of Blaenau Ffestiniog are a fifteen minute drive away.

The rooms are of traditional design with en-suite facilities, many of which offer a sea view. Free parking is available and the hotel benefits from two full service restaurants, a café bar, ballroom and function room where evening entertainment is sometimes situated.

Harrison benefits from a strong year round trade built up over the last thirty years. This will allow us to trade a profitable business whilst making modifications over a sustained period. We will begin an improvement programme immediately and work around business levels to ensure we maintain profitability throughout. It is our intention to improve the bedrooms and bathrooms to bring us in line with customer expectations and upgrade various in room items such as TV’s to provide better services for the guests. The hotel operates predominantly in the coach market at this time and is very well received by this clientele. The long term plan involves a change to a more main stream operation to replace a coach market which is gradually dying out.

Our management team has an outstanding knowledge of the North Wales tourist market. This will allow us to make subtle and professional changes to the day to day operation, moving away from a traditional method of operating and moving to a modern computer based property management system that will help us to react quickly to the changing business demands. We can achieve greater profitability through our buying power and create an operation that will be in growth for years to come. With 2016 being close to sold out it allows us time to integrate ourselves into the hotel and analyse the most effective and suitable improvements that need to be made by operating the hotel under its current format.

Harrison benefits from an existing strong and well trained core team of staff that have been retained for a number of years. Staff retention is very important to us as operators. Through training and development, we will support our staff teams to achieve the highest possible standards for the operation and reward them for this development and long service through various mediums available to us. This is intrinsically linked to profitability and customer retention. An outstanding team, delivering outstanding hospitality will ensure our guests return to Harrison and provide us with recommendations in public forums. A hotel is a building, staff make the building a hotel, staff with a passion for service make the building a top hotel in its class.

We are confident in the long term viability of Harrison Hotel. Llandudno has maintained its tourism market for over a century despite changing demands and the availability of foreign destinations and has recently been voted as the third best location to visit in the United Kingdom, behind only London and Edinburgh. The town is protected by both the integrity of the local council and the vision of the current Lord Mostyn. Mostyn Estates own a substantial part of Llandudno and have instigated rules that provide the basis for the consistency of this beautiful North Wales ‘Queen of resorts’. There are more reasons than ever to visit Llandudno and its surrounding areas, reaching out to different market places from the traditional mountain walkers to Surf Snowdonia and its purpose built inland surfers paradise. It is ideal for a break at any time of year and attracts different market sectors throughout. Whether you want a stroll down the promenade, fine dining, mountain walking or extreme sports, Llandudno will fit the bill and The Harrison Hotel will provide you with the home away from home whilst you visit.
